Tybalds Estate, Camden

Camlins work at Tybalds Estate for LB Camden was focussed on creating a green and family friendly environment. External spaces must be hard working living spaces, fit for particular activities, making successful places where people will enjoy coming together to use the variety of gardens and facilities. First, we established a satisfying and workable hierarchy of public, communal and private space, crucial to promoting sociable behaviour. The external spaces were designed to be as playable as possible with traditional dedicated play equipment, but also the public realm and gardens will also be inspiring, interesting and safe for children to play around. The proposals understand that play and adult supervision of play are a part of the range of the everyday activity that occurs throughout any appealing residential area. The project was Overall Winner at the New London Awards 2013.
