Heybourne Park, Barnet

Heybourne Park is the centrepiece of the extensive community regeneration programme at Grahame Park, North London. The new park will incorporate existing pond, meadow and mature trees. The new civic square will be an ideal setting for the proposed Community Hub, with café, community hall, NHS facilities. The design emerged from a highly collaborative process, working closely with LB Barnet and in consultation with local community interest groups. Feedback confirmed that the priority should be provision of diverse outdoor recreation facilities for people of all ages. The design includes children’s play, MUGA, skate park, parkour and trim trail. All is set within a large scale landscape dominated by an open ‘field’ and a ‘hill’ from which to view the surrounding park. The park infrastructure includes SUDS and is designed to be manageable and maintainable, to give enduring value.
